Lexi is LumiLexicon’s built-in AI chat assistant. Open the Lexi tab to start a conversation. Lexi can search your inventory, answer questions about your books, update records, run valuations, and discuss book history and collecting strategy.

What Lexi can do

Search & Filter

Find books by any combination of title, author, genre, condition, value, date, format, and more.

Take Actions

Update fields, create lots, log sales, run valuations, generate listings — always with confirmation.

Analyze

Get collection stats, P&L summaries, pricing health checks, and duplicate detection.

Discuss

Ask about book history, editions, condition terminology, market trends, or collecting advice. No tool needed — Lexi knows books.

How it works

  1. Type your question or request in the chat input
  2. Lexi decides which tools to use (if any) and queries your database directly
  3. Results appear as rich inline cards — book cards, comp tables, photo grids
  4. For write actions (updates, valuations), Lexi shows a confirmation card before executing
  5. Conversations are saved — come back to them any time

Example conversations

Search: “Show me all my poetry books published before 1940” Triage: “Which books have been sitting in inventory for more than 90 days?” Analytics: “What’s my profit this month?” Update: “Update the condition on my Hemingway to near fine” Knowledge: “What’s the difference between a colophon and an imprint page?”

Cost

Each message costs a small amount based on conversation length. Lexi uses Claude Sonnet 4 by default. Your running cost total is shown at the bottom of the sidebar. Typical costs:
  • Simple question: $0.001-0.005
  • Search query: $0.01-0.02
  • Deep book detail: $0.01-0.03
